This module is an overview of an effective communication process in palliative care. Upon completion of this course, the participants should be able to:
(1) Understand the role of communication and how to communicate as a team;
(2) Understand barriers and myths about communication; and
(3) Learn strategies on the best ways to communicate with residents and families
One CEU is available per module for administrators, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. Clinical modules are appropriate for: MD, NP, RN, LPN and non-clinical modules are appropriate for: MD, NP, RN, LPN, CNA, SW, OT, PT, ST, Dietary, Spiritual care. Each module has an education portion and a quiz which will take approximately one hour in total to complete.
