Description

This module is an overview of palliative care pain management and its fundamental concepts and goals. Upon completion of this course, the participants should be able to: 

(1) Understand basic pain assessment components; 

(2) Understand common fears and myths related to appropriate opioid use; and 

(3) Describe medication dosing and titration recommendations.

One CEU is available per module for administrators, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. Clinical modules are appropriate for: MD, NP, RN, LPN and non-clinical modules are appropriate for: MD, NP, RN, LPN, CNA, SW, OT, PT, ST, Dietary, Spiritual care. Each module has an education portion and a quiz which will take approximately one hour in total to complete.
